Cultural week

For my school's cultural week we had a lot of super cool presentations and activities by different kinds of famous artists and invited people like Andrés López, Hassam, Camilo Cifuentes, Elisabet Rundström and other bands!!  It was like the best week ever! Here are some things we did:

It just happened and i thought it would make a great story

Ok so every year we celebrate the book fair, it's a huge event where there are many pavilions full of books, activities, didactic material and cool things you won't find elsewhere.
Yesterday I went there; I wanted to buy like 20 books lol and this year there were a lot of stuff. I had so much fun:)
There was this cute fire engine with real fire fighters around who showed us their clothing.
Plus this nice trees made of nothing else but paper, a big walle to be arround his books and this nice guy that was inspiring and wrote love letters to everyone by their name, every letter was unique because he just thought about it and wrote, my cousin's stand which was nearly imposible to find but yeah at 8.30 pm we did lol  I got a free book though!! n ofcourse my crazy mom to pose por each pic:) She's a crazy teacher so I guess anthing can be ezpected lol. The huge story comming up heheh. You  know the cosas de niñas books right? Just in case they're a hit here since like 2006. So I went to the stand of that editorial just to check for new books and there was MARIA VILLEGAS!!!!! She was signing books and taking pics with people! it was so great! She told us she first started writing cookbooks (her father is a publisher) and then she madde a group with Jenny Kent (the other author from cosas de niñas) and told us she's a teacher. She's always loved children and started writing. we bought their new book...... I could open the big book and get a price plus a glittered tattoo and a 25% discount and ofcourse her signature. So we kept looking around and there was this book from someone McAllister and since the lady around knew so much about María I asked if the writer was a relative of Juanita McAllister my favorite teacher ever! And she said hmmm..... no. Know who should know?....... Jenny kent. and I was like uh ok. (This isn't a really global example imagine ......... cosgrove and you ask if he's a relative of Miranda Cosgrove and as an answer you get that avril Lavigne should know) BUT THEN she said no, Jenny's over there in our other stand so we went over, nearly imposible to find the stand but well.... when I first saw her I went like um she dyed her hair! and then we went over and it was like Hi!!!! my daughter is a big fan of yours and she answered: How old are you? in this strange accent and we started to talk. Then I don't know why she went like oh no the one who writes books for kids is Jenny. "You're not Jenny?'' - Oh no I write books about SEX! SEX ok? OMG I think I blushed allover, both just started laughing!!  I wanted to run away! It was like the best embarassing story:)

Dia del idioma

Today we celebrated language day; the main topic in our class was memory through time (why we should´nt forget specific events, people etc....) we had four themes and each student had to make an art installation, representing whether people  killed in combat, the influence of women or african heritage.
On the opening, eighth grade students made a dance and combined the dancing on normal floor and the ceiling, then we had a conference with a political writer.
Previously we also participaded in a writing contest about memory so the best stories were read plus a plot about memory for each grade of secondary.
10th Gr. made a play and we had our expositions.
Here are pictures of some works, hope you like them.

Cyrano de Bergerac

The english department brought an argentine theatre group to perform the play. It was nice and hmmm the songs were stock in everyone's head all day lol!! :)  They all had great voices and were really pretty. I wanted to talk to them but unfortunaley they left =) It was cool when my mom was little people called her cyrano because of her nose (but it's not big though Idk why) anyway it's funny.
here some pics:

Juanita's B-day!

Today my favorite teacher turned 29!! I didn't know but I was suprised how the whole classrom, well you could feel this wave of affection towards her.
There were small posters and streamers all around a table with cupcakes, party hats, chips, soda etc....
We had class so she arrived and there was a whole party set up  :) We played musical chairs (and she won lol, i was in the top 4) and limbo. She does a lot of sport so she is really flexible.
It was amazing:

I Loooove when that happens (ohh good times)!!
